In Beijing, athletes from up to 205 nations will compete for gold in 35 different disciplines over the course of 18 days.

Comprehensive information on each sport can be found on the International Olympic Committee's (IOC) homepage as well as that of the Beijing Organising Committee of the Olympic Games (BOCOG).
